Get A-Head had the wonderful opportunity to have a stand at the Solihull Food & Drink Festival last weekend, and despite the best attempts of the rain to dampen our spirits at great time was had by all!!

We had plenty of kids having a go at the Name the Get A-Head Bear and guessing the number of sweets in the jar as well as plenty of people finding our more about what we do!!  Our volunteers worked so hard over the weekend helping to get our name out there and promote what we do to the public of Solihull.

Louise Newton, our Charity Manager, said: “We had a wonderful time at the Solihull food and drink festival, and were overwhelmed with how many people took time to come and speak to us and find out about the charity. I think the festival showed great community spirit and we look forward to being involved in future events in the town.”

With over 80 food and drink stalls, family activities and celebrity food demonstrations, the Solihull Food and Drink Festival 2017 was declared a roaring success.  The abundance of sizzling street food, live music and The Hairy Bikers Dave Myers’ sell-out cookery shows brought the town centre to life throughout the three days.

Solihull Food and Drink Festival was organised by Solihull Business Improvement District (BID) and Director, Melanie Palmer, said: “This weekend showcased our businesses all working together to make this the biggest festival Solihull has seen to date.  We can’t wait for the next one!”
