London Marathon 2015

Posted by Anne-Marie on April 20, 2015

Next Sunday April 26th Get A-Head have 3 fantastic runners taking part in the iconic London Marathon and raising funds to support patients with head and neck diseases.

Mike Bates

Mike Bates is running the race in memory of his Dad, who passed away from cancer 10 years ago.  Mike has done various fundraising events over the last 10 years but has decided now is the time to push himself to complete a full marathon and which better one to do than the London Marathon.  Mike works for WHSmith and has been busy selling Get A-Head wristbands & keyrings as well as getting lots of sponsorship.  If you would like to sponsor Mike please click the following link:  virginmoneygiving.com/MikeBates

Chris Ear 1

Chris Coulson is a Consultant ENT Surgeon who has previously run the London Marathon, but this year decided he wanted to do it differently.  He is running dressed as an Human Ear – why you may ask?   Firstly to raise funds for Get A-Head but secondly there is the small matter of trying to beat a Guiness World Record – the current record stands at 3 hours, 37 minutes and 42 seconds.  Chris’ previous best time is 3 hours 56 minutes, so he is planning a massive improvement.   If you would like to sponsor Chris in his world record attempt follow the link :  virginmoneygiving.com/ChrisCoulson

Neil Nose 1

Neil Sharma is also an ENT doctor based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and when Chris challenged him to do the marathon, how could he refuse.  And in keeping with the ENT theme Neil is running the marathon dressed as an Human Nose and trying to set the world record as well.  Neil can be sponsored at the following link:  virginmoneygiving.com/NeilSharma
