Morrison’s Great Birmingham Run 2015

Posted by Anne-Marie on October 19, 2015

Whether you ran the Morrison’s Great Birmingham Run for Get A-Head yesterday, or joined the thousands cheering everyone in our team on, thank you for your support.

With around 20,000 entries, thousands of spectators lining the streets along the 13.1 mile route and TV coverage shown on Channel 5, Birmingham staged a half marathon to rival the best in the country.

The fastest man on the day was winner Chris Thompson, who completed the elite race in just 1 hour and 3 minutes.

Alison Smith, Speech & Language Therapist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, said:

“I’ve completed my first half marathon! It was gruelling from 10-13 miles but the sponsorship kept me going! Really pleased to have raised some funds for such a great charity and it was worth it for the massage at the end!”
