Olympic Day for Get A-Head

Posted by Anne-Marie on October 11, 2013

Olympic DayNeil and I wanted to set up a fun family event to help raise money for Get A-Head Charitable Trust.  Our friend, Mel Jaggard, recently passed away following an extremely brave battle against a rare form of cancer called ACC.  Mel was, in short, amazing.  Despite her health battles, she was one of the most inspiring people you could ever meet. She never complained about her illness – she was always too busy being interested in what you were doing. Always in our hearts, she will never be forgotten. Our thoughts are with Hubby Charlie and twins Tommy and Amelie.

Get A-Head raises money for head, neck and other rare cancers and has been greatly involved in Mel’s story.  So we’ve decided to hold an Olympic Day on Saturday 19th October to raise funds for Mel’s charity.  If you would like to come along to our Olympic Day at Lea Valley Athletics track all we ask for is a donation.  The following donations are a guide but feel free to give more if you can:

Child  £5                   Adult  £15                     Spectator  £2

You or your children can take part in one or all events, it’s up to you. Events for the day will look something like this: 60m race, 200m, Relay Race for Kids, Adults, and a Mixed event, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, and there will be medals for all the kids.

If you cannot make the day but would still like to donate then that would also be greatly appreciated.

We have lots of people coming but please feel free to spread the word as the more people we get the more money we raise. Every penny is going straight to Get A-Head.  If you register on the just giving site please state your kid’s ages so we can plan the events.

It will be a great day and we look forward to seeing you as many of you as possible.

Best Regards

Neil & Emma
