Variety Ball 2016 – Volunteer Opportunity
Posted by Anne-Marie on November 14, 2016
Are you looking for the chance to experience a Black Tie event and help us raise funds to support patients suffering with Head & neck disease, then this volunteer opportunity may be for you.
Where: Birmingham Hilton Metropole, National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, B40 1PP
When: Saturday 26th November 2016
Commitment: One evening Duration: 5pm – Midnight (7 hours)
What’s In It For You:
You’ll get to experience a full-on, Black Tie Charity Ball complete with a meal and the chance to see a top stand-up comedian.
Why We Need You:
We have over 500 guests attending the event, which has come to be known as one of the premier autumn charity events in the region. We need people to ensure that every aspect of the evening goes well and that our fundraising potential is maximised.
The Skills You Need:
You’ll need to be smiley and welcoming, and enjoy talking to members of the public. The ability to multitask would also be useful but not essential.
Roles will include:
- Meeting and greeting at the two main entrances
- Ushering people to their tables
- Selling raffle tickets (this will be done in pairs)
As this is a black tie ball, volunteers will need to be of a smart appearance (shirt and tie for men, evening wear for ladies).
All training will be given in an induction session at the Hotel from 5pm.
The Charity is unable to accommodate the volunteers overnight, but reasonable travel expenses will be re-imbursed.
