London Marathon 2020

Posted by Anne-Marie on August 20, 2020

You have probably heard the news that London Marathon Events have confirmed that the 2020 London Marathon on the 4 October will not go ahead as planned. The event will be for elite runners only and has been cancelled for the masses. Find out more information in the official statement from London Marathon Events

We’ll be in touch with all #TeamGAH 2020 runners to let them know their options. If you have any questions please email info@getahead.org.uk

However, there is an opportunity for YOU to take part in the virtual London Marathon 2020.

Although London Marathon 2020 has been cancelled for the masses, you can still be part of the event by completing the 26.2 mile distance from home.

Join #TeamGAH for The 40th Race by completing the marathon on Sunday 4 October from a course of your choice. You’ll have 24 hours to complete the distance and your time will be included in the official results.

With mass participation events cancelled or postponed at the moment, we need your support more than ever and you’ll be raising vital funds for Get A-Head. We’re asking new runners to pay a £20 entry fee (to cover the cost of the place) and pledge to raise £262 (that’s £10 per mile 😊). You’ll also receive a unique New Balance finisher t-shirt and an exclusive medal for The 40th Race from London Marathon Events.

Register your interest for the Virtual Virgin Money 2020 Marathon by emailing info@getahead.org.uk and support Get A-Head with the huge impact the cancellation of our events due to COVID-19 has had on our fundraising.  We only have a limited number of places, so places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
