Former fashion business owner Hoss Mehjoo has been appointed as a patron of Birmingham-founded head and neck charity Get A-Head.
Hoss joins a distinguished group of patrons including HRH Princess Michael of Kent, Cher, Lord Digby Jones of Birmingham, Dr Hilary Jones, Peter Scudamore MBE and Nigel Wray, to help raise the profile of the charity’s vital work.
Iranian-born, Hoss arrived in the UK in 1971 to attend boarding school in Yorkshire. He went on to play squash at professional international level until injury forced an early retirement from the sport.
This prompted him to start his entrepreneurial career and he went on to launch his successful UK fashion brand Fire & Ice, growing 40 outlets across the country.

“His business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit will be invaluable as we continue to expand our support for people affected by head and neck diseases.”
In his role as patron, Hoss will serve as an ambassador for Get A-Head, helping to raise the charity’s profile and supporting its mission to fund research, education and patient support.
The appointment comes at an exciting time for the charity, which celebrated its 30th anniversary year in 2024, and funded significant research aimed at improving access to diagnosis and treatment for people with head and neck cancer.
Hoss, who has two sons who were both born profoundly deaf and had to undergo cochlear implant surgery at a young age, said: “My interest in Get A-Head started when we were told our son Sebastian needed surgery. At the time he was one of the youngest people in the UK to undergo this type of procedure.
“It’s a real honour to be appointed a patron of Get A-Head. The charity’s work in supporting people affected by head and neck diseases is truly inspiring and I look forward to using my experience and networks to help raise awareness and funds for this important cause.
